At Ptolemy, our tours are crafted with two essential elements:

    1. a map
    2. written text

We seamlessly integrate these components, geolocating the content on the map to create a magical experience. This union transforms into a themed self-guided adventure, allowing everyone to explore and discover with ease. Enjoy engaging stories and navigate effortlessly through our interactive maps on your journey!

You think you know how to enhance your destination? Then keep reading and check out how simple it is!

    How it works

    1. The first important think is to decide on a theme. Are you an expert in your destination? Or are you an organisation willing to digitise your offer? We can surely help you with that!

Here are some themes’ examples on what is a Ptolemy tour:
    • a famous character (example: “Leonardo Da Vinci in Milan” or “Gaudì in Barcelona”)
    • a time period (example: “Following Roman Traces in Cologne”)
    • the essentials of a destination (example: “The Essentials in Prague” or “The most beautiful buildings in Florence”)
    • an artistic movement (example: “Gothic art in Paris”)

    Useful tips

To make you better understand how a tour is built, please consider the following: Once you decided a theme, think about the logistics:

    1. the route must be feasible on foot in one day
    2. stops must be maximum 7 minutes walking distance from each other (the closer the better)
    3. Minimum of 5 stops for each tour (the more the better!)
    4. Stops should be enjoyable from the outside, as we do not provide interior audio guides. Each point of interest is significant, so craft your descriptions to allow visitors the choice of exploring inside or enjoying the background information from outside—even for locations with ticketed entry!
    5. All of our tours keep the storytelling alive, and engage people precisely while the follow our map and listen the story at each stop!
    6. Last but not least: our goal is to be engaging and provide a great experience for all of our customers, so we must be specific and detailed, as tourists have only our audio and map to orientate!!!!
